After three years of patiently waiting for the promised moment, it has arrived and our lovely Veggie Green Rose bushes have gifted us with sprays of multiple blossoms. For the history and growing instructions click here for our April 2023 introductory article.
Both Ann and I are thrilled to share with our readers that we now have bushes measuring around 4 feet in height and at least 3 feet across.
However, the best news is that we can enjoy those lovely, soft green petals in an array of elegant floral arrangements. We invite you to celebrate with us several fresh and natural options for using these charming and delicate garden stars.
As the bountiful blooms of hydrangeas slowly give way to summer’s heat, an early morning cutting paired with the captivating petals of veggie green rose add depth to this arrangement for a touch of indoor beauty.
If you are looking for a small garden-inspired aesthetic, the lush sepals of veggie green rose provide a pleasing complement to the sturdy stems of Veronica ‘Skyward Blue’.
Should you desire a touch of formality for an intimate lunch gathering, consider tucking the delicate stems of white ranunculus gracefully among Veggie Green Rose. Spinach quiche topped with sliced San Marzano tomatoes from the garden completes the setting.
*A real bonus of using Veggie Green Rose in an arrangement is that it tends to keep its “good looks” for 14 days or more.
This lovely spray sitting on a sunlit area of my kitchen counter was cut over 10 days ago. It fills me with joy each morning while preparing breakfast.
